2 October 2006: In the Classroom
I had a Chinese History tutorial this morning. Tutorials in NTU are slightly different from those in NUS; students are named to answer questions posed in class and little is left to their own initiatives. I had not done my readings, and would be tongue-tight to answer any question. Phew, I was left alone and thus sat silent throughout the discussion.
Then, from the corner of my eye I saw this guy with a smug on his face that simply wouldn't be written off in that whole duration. He smiled to himself after virtually every comment made by our classmates. This smug, this smile, seemed deviously very demeaning to me. I mean, if you have a constructive comment, then voice it! Don't keep to yourself at one end and imagine a world in which you are The One and the rest of the ding gang surrounding you are simply fools blessed with ignorance. How deceitful! I look forward to seeing him in serious intellectual discourse and witness for myself how GOOD he can be.
