My companions to Macau were dead beat the night before, and I had woken up hours before they eventually did, so I made my own way to a few attractions on the main island. I visited the Goddess of Mercy statue at the harbour, as well as the Chapel of Our Lady of Penha atop the Penha Hill.
I ate my own lunch (inclusive of more Portugese egg tarts that I found increasingly irresistible) before meeting up with them in the afternoon, and we traveled to the famous Ruins of Saint Paul College (a filming site of the much-acclaimed Princess Hours). The College is one of the most captivating ruins that I had ever seen in the Greater China region. Later, we found ourselves at the ever-busy Senado Square, searching for local delights and souvenirs. The surrounding buildings display a fine blend of Chinese and Mediterranean architectural styles, and the eateries sell exotic food that spells sinful indulgence for us.
In the evening, we took a ferry back to Hong Kong, and Debby's church friends treated me to a Singaporean spread that was not too authentic but nonetheless delectable. Here's thanks to them for everything in the past 2 days of activities in Macau!
